Terms of Use — Simple Skin

1. Licence

Simple Skin is released under the MIT License. You may use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense and sell copies of the software, provided the copyright notice and this permission notice are included in all copies or substantial portions of it.

The full licence text ships inside the mod jar and in the project repository.

2. Acceptable use

You are responsible for how you use the mod. In particular:

Servers set their own rules. Changing skins, or wearing another player's skin, may breach the rules of a server even though the mod itself does nothing improper. Check before you do it.
Do not use the mod to impersonate someone in order to deceive, harass or defraud them.
Only import images you have the right to use. Skins you create, skins you are licensed to use, or skins Mojang already serves publicly are fine; someone else's commissioned artwork is not yours to redistribute.
You are responsible for keeping your Minecraft account in good standing with Mojang's own terms and the Minecraft EULA.

3. Privacy

The mod collects nothing. There is no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting and no third-party server. Nothing about you is sent to the authors.

Everything the mod stores stays in your own Minecraft folder, under config/simple-skin. Deleting that folder removes all of it.

The mod contacts exactly three hosts, all operated by Mojang:

Host	Why
`api.minecraftservices.com`	Upload your skin and change your active cape. Uses your existing session token.
`api.mojang.com`	Resolve a username to a profile ID when you search for a player.
`sessionserver.mojang.com`	Read a profile's public skin data.
`textures.minecraft.net`	Download skin and cape images. All skin URLs are pinned to this host.

Your session token is only ever sent to api.minecraftservices.com, and only to perform an action you asked for. It is never written to disk by the mod.

This website serves static files and sets no cookies. It loads a web font from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. The site itself stores nothing about you. Your hosting provider may keep standard server access logs.

4. No warranty

The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

In no event shall the authors or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages or other liability, whether in an action of contract, tort or otherwise, arising from, out of or in connection with the software or its use.

This includes anything that happens to your Minecraft account or your access to any server.

5. Trademarks and affiliation

Simple Skin is an unofficial, fan-made modification. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with Mojang Studios, Microsoft, or the Fabric project.

Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Studios. All trademarks are the property of their respective owners and are used here only to describe compatibility.

6. Changes

These terms may be updated as the mod changes. The version published here is the one that applies. Continuing to use the mod after an update means you accept the revised terms.
